At work with clear objectives and deadlines I’m a dedicated wage slave diligently working nine to five (well, ten to seven). I can set priorities, balance the boring shit I need to do with the interesting stuff I want to do and ensure that as much as is practical gets done.

Unfortunately when I don’t have deadlines I just let things drift. Procrastination is just so much darn fun. Sadly I have a long list of interesting stuff I really want to do but I seem to make such little progress. It’s not (only) a time issue, it didn’t get much better when I was between jobs.

So this my way of imposing deadlines on myself. I’m committing to at least one post a week with a significant objective each month. This is a publicly commitment to achieving something. With any luck it might even be innovative and interesting.
